Extractants
Extractants are special reagents important in the process of separation, purification and recovery of metals, particularly uranium, copper, nickel, cobalt and rare earths, from solutions. It is used in the solvent extraction technology, transporting selected metals from one aqueous solution to another, so that metals are separated, purified and recovered.
Phosphoric Acid
Phosphoric acid is a phosphorus oxoacid commonly used as an intermediate in chemical synthesis. It is a valuable raw material needed for the production of various phosphorus compounds. It is also used as a strong reducing agent in organic synthesis or a rust converter (by bringing it in direct contact with a rusted iron, steel and other rusted surfaces). Furthermore, phosphoric acid is effective in cleaning mineral deposits, cement nous smears and hard water stains.
SMBS (Sodium Metabisulfite)
The primary applications of Sodium Metabisulfite in the mining industry is to control the depression of pyrites and sphalerite minerals. MBS is ideal for pH control for the froth flotation process, where it could control pyrite depression. Sodium Metabisulfite is also helpful in preventing flotation of sphalerite through copper activation with the availability of Tennantite/Covellite in the ore.
Diesel Fuel
Diesel fuel is fundamental to the mining industry, as it is widely used in various heavy-duty machinery. Diesel-powered shovels and drills excavate and load natural resources into mining trucks or onto conveyor belts, also operated on diesel fuel. Underground haul trucks, large excavators, as well as material handling equipment to extract, convey and transport for processing mined natural resources = all operate on diesel fuel.
Flocculants
Flocculants are chemical reagents that are used to treat wastewater from harmful impurities and compounds. Flocculants are actively used in the mining industry at the stages of filtration, thickening and dehydration of flotation concentrates on equipment of various types and models.
Diluents
Diluents are key components in the solvent extraction process and are widely used in the extraction of metal. In selecting the optimal diluent for a mining operation, it is important to consider the technical performance as well as the potential safety (health, flammability) and environmental risks associated with the diluent, thus, ensuring the highest quality is crucial.
